Christmas is around the corner and holidays are starting soon! It is a great time of year to relax and prepare for the new year. To help you, Inspire Tutoring have come up with some top tips to get you or your child prepared for the busy year ahead.
Plan your Time
A revision timetable can be useful to help you prepare by knowing the topics you need to revise and having realistic set time goals can help you achieve this. See Inspire’s Sample Timetable in the next post!
Know your Exam Boards
Whether its AQA or Exdecel, for different exams know who the examination board is for each different subject.
Find Past Papers
All the examination boards will have a section for past papers, use these to test knowledge, help practice time management and prepare for what the exam will be like.
Filling in the Gaps in your Knowledge
Identify what you know
Go through topics for each subject that you will be examined on and identify the ones you need to work on.
Topics you are Struggling with
Working with friends to revise can be fun and everyone can share knowledge.
The internet is a great resource to consolidate knowledge but be careful of what websites you are finding information/resources, as some information can be incorrect.
Having a Revision Routine
Make sure you stick to the revision timetable you have created and split up time with breaks and by topic to make sure all exams are covered.
Coping with Stress
Ensure taking regular breaks when revising, keep hydrated and eat healthily through out the year. Exercise is a great way to combat stress and to stay active.
